MHHS warns of TB increase
(PR) There has been an increase in tuberculosis (TB) cases in our community in recent weeks. TB spreads through the air when a person with active TB coughs or sneezes.
Protect yourself and others by covering your cough, wearing a mask if you’re sick, ensuring good ventilation, and getting tested if you have symptoms like a persistent cough, fatigue, fever, loss of appetite, unexplained weight loss, or night sweats.
Early detection and treatment are key—please seek care if you have concerns.
For more information about TB disease or how to get screened for TB, please contact the Communicable Disease Unit (CDU):
Mondays to Fridays from 8:00am – 5:00pm:
• CDU Clinic 488 – 2450
• Health Information Resource Center 488 – 1757/6500
• After hours and on weekends 775-2822
